Speed of Sight

Speed of Sight are a charity offering driving experiences to people who wouldn’t otherwise get behind the wheel. Founded by Mike “Superhuman” Newman, former fastest blind man on earth and multiple world record holder.

The Challenge

Mike’s story is remarkable, but the charity needed a film that captured it properly – something that would help generate interest in Speed of Sight & do justice to what they’re trying to achieve.

The Approach

We filmed Mike driving his V8 Jaguar at Elvington airfield in Yorkshire, then a second day at his home near Manchester. Car-to-car filming on an active runway isn’t straightforward, but the footage needed to match the scale of what Mike’s actually doing.

Also, we shot the charity’s first ever event at Silverstone race circuit – a huge milestone for them. We covered the day to capture what Speed of Sight actually looks like in action: real people getting behind the wheel, creating life-long memories at a world-famous track.

The Result

Two films for the charity. A promo telling Mike’s story that we’re genuinely proud of, and coverage of their Silverstone track day capturing what the charity actually does in practice.
